Horse Handling 101
Riding/Horsemanship Lessons

I do not charge by the hour for any of my lessons. A typical riding/horsemanship lesson is 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Sometimes it just takes one person longer than another and some things are just more complicated and take extra time to really "get". I will also tailor the lessons to meet your needs - nothing is written in stone.

Lessons are available for different levels of experience… from the ultimate beginner and up. I like to say that I specialize in patience and building the rider's confidence.

Lessons are designed to educate students on equine knowledge and respect through proper ground and mounted instruction. Learning to ride correctly, responsibly and with an understanding of when, where, how, and why to apply a few simple universal techniques can make you a competent and successful rider - regardless of how big or small your riding goals and ambitions are. I don’t only teach “what to do”, but why to do it and why the horse understands and responds. Students are not only given riding instruction, but will learn many important things related to horses and riding, such as: common horse sense, grooming, basic groundwork, haltering, saddling, bridling, mounting, dismounting, and more. Students also learn to identify and correctly place, fit and adjust the tack they will be using.

Students must be at least 12 years of age.
